Hi Christophe. Do you have sleep issues?
Yes, I do. I’ve had trouble sleeping for a long time now. It’s a family tradition, I guess! My parents, brothers, and sisters also suffer from sleep problems. I also have a stressful job that prevents me from sleeping. Let’s just say that I sleep better on Friday night than on Sunday evening! I start my day very early, and I’m stressed, so it’s hard to have a good night’s sleep. I don’t have any problems falling asleep, I just wake up a lot in the night.
How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
I’ve never been a good sleeper! I sleep around 3–5 hours a night and I don’t feel rested in the morning. It is very rare that I say: “I’ve had a good night’s sleep”.
This week I’m feeling less tired though. I don’t why, but it’s true.
Have you ever tried any other solutions to improve the quality of your sleep?
No, I’ve always refused to take sleeping pills. I’ve tried a lot of things, like essential oils, but it wasn’t working for me. When I got diagnosed with sleep apnea I was given a special mask, but I couldn’t stand it.
To be honest, I’ve never found a solution to sleep better, which is why the headband caught my attention.
What was your first impression when you got the Dreem Band? Design and comfort-wise?
Honestly, I found it really good. The headband is quite light, it’s easy to wear. When I wake up in the morning, it’s not upside down. It’s nice to use, compared to the sleep apnea device I tried. It has obviously been well thought out.
Tell us about your first night with the Dreem Band. How did it go?
No trouble at all. It’s not annoying to wear whilst sleeping; I sleep on my back, side, stomach… I have no particular issues with it.
How do you feel the effects of the deep sleep stimulations?
One big difference is that I used to wake up at 3am. I don’t know why. With the headband, I don’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore.
Do you check your sleep results on the Dreem Application?
Yes! It’s quite addictive actually. As soon as I get up in the morning, I plug the headband in and go on my app. It’s interesting to see my Sleep Score and compare it to previous nights. So I check my scores very frequently.
Have you changed the way you sleep with the Dreem Band?
Well, firstly it’s helped me understand my sleep activity. Before using the headband, I knew I didn’t sleep well. Now I can see the stages where I am in deep sleep, light sleep, REM Sleep or awake. I am really becoming aware of the evolution of my sleep journey during the night.
It’s also helping me to focus on bedtime, to stop watching screens, turn my phone off etc.. I say to myself: “You must be in a calm state before falling asleep”, to have better effects. I really feel better after doing all this now.
It does vary of course! Sometimes I wake up in the morning and my Sleep score is pretty bad! But sometimes it’s pretty great.
